I have been a member of the DIY and Building Trade Forum for the last 6 years and I have held a chair position on the forum for the past 21 months. The membership of the forum has provided Ridgeons with the opportunity to network and collaborate with like-minded businesses to share information and ideas and to promote a loss prevention culture within our businesses.
The facilitation of the forums that is offered by Louise and John at ORIS is very well managed and provides a link with the other forums to share ideas across a wider demographic as well as providing leverage to lobby on issues affecting LP professionals.
The annual Cross Forum events are really well run with good quality speakers and great content, with valuable round table discussions about a wide range of subjects. The forums are well worth the time invested and annual membership costs.
John Lewis sits on four category Forums namely, Fashion, Speciality, Logistics & Supply Chain and Online & Mail Order. Most of the biggest and well known high street traders are represented and there is a wealth of experience and knowledge at each Forum to draw on. Collaboration, cooperation, networking and sharing of information are the key benefits we have gained from attendance. Most importantly they are action focussed, and we collaborate to protect ourselves from organised crime and criminals that target our businesses.
